Google is adding business features to the Gemini app, including direct connection to Google Business Profile and business notebooks.
The company announcement updates during its Google for Brazil event. Both features will begin rolling out globally this month, excluding the EEA and UK.
Business profile features in Gemini are released gradually and may not yet appear to all eligible users. Once a profile is connected, Gemini can extract the reviews, customer questions, and performance data attached to it.
Connect Business Profiles to Gemini
Business profile login will arrive in the coming weeks, Google says, and will work with a single click.
Vishnu Sivaji, Senior Director of the Gemini App, wrote:
“Once connected, Gemini becomes an AI assistant that truly knows your business, with access to your real-world context like customer reviews, customer questions, and performance data.”
Google lists three examples of what the connection allows.
- Ask how your business performed this month and Gemini analyzes search impressions, direction inquiries, call data and customer engagement.
- Ask for help with a recent review and they write a response referencing the customer’s comments.
- Tell them to update business hours, post seasonal updates, or find gaps in your profile.
Professional notebooks
Business notebooks provide owners with a space containing discussions, sources, a business profile, and a website. Gemini references this material in conversations, so the context carries over between sessions.
Notebooks will display alerts when opened, such as an unanswered customer question or holiday hours that have not been set. It will also suggest operational changes, such as pricing or positioning, based on the local market.
Part of a broader Gemini push
The article describes these features as building on AI capabilities announced by Google in May. Those I/O Updates made Gemini 3.5 Flash the default model in AI mode and expanded agentic features in search.
Gemini has also moved closer to business profiles on the moderation side. Last year, Google started using Gemini to detect suspicious profile edits and fake reviews. This announcement brings Gemini into product management, after Google previously used it for the Profiles and Reviews app.
Why it matters
Managing a business profile usually means working within the profile dashboard for each task. The Gemini connection also places review responses, profile edits, and performance questions in a chat window.
AI-written review responses still represent your business once published, so each should be read before being published.
Looking to the future
The rollout begins this month, with business profile login to follow in the coming weeks. The announcement does not mention availability plans for the EEA or UK.
