If you’ve always wanted to work in healthcare but didn’t think you could because you don’t have a degree, you’ll be happy to know that there are ways to get your foot in the door without going back to school!
Many healthcare employers now offer remote positions that only require a high school diploma or minimal customer service experience.
These jobs could be great options if you want to earn a stable salary from home while doing work that helps people!
Below are five legitimate healthcare jobs you can do remotely. I’ve also included some examples of companies that regularly hire for them.

1. Telehealth Customer Service Representative
Telehealth support specialists help patients schedule appointments, answer questions and use virtual care systems. You do not provide medical advice in these jobs. Instead, you help with technology and make sure people have a good experience.
These jobs are perfect if you have a calm, helpful personality and strong communication skills.
Typical requirements: High school diploma or GED, customer service experience, good computer skills and comfort with video or chat software.

2. Medical Billing and Insurance Claims Specialist
Medical billing and coding jobs are among the most in-demand remote healthcare positions. In these jobs, you process insurance claims, check codes for accuracy, and ensure doctors and hospitals are paid correctly.
Although most coding positions require certification, it is sometimes possible to find entry-level billing positions where you are trained on the job.
Typical requirements: High school diploma, attention to detail, basic understanding of healthcare terms and willingness to learn billing software.

3. Patient Advocate or Remote Care Coordinator
Patient advocates and care coordinators work directly with patients to help them understand treatment plans, find affordable care, and manage insurance or paperwork.
If you land one of these jobs, you’ll spend much of your day communicating with patients by phone or email, making sure they get the help they need.
Typical requirements: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, empathy, and experience in customer service or healthcare.

4. Virtual Medical Office Assistant
A virtual medical assistant handles the administrative side of healthcare. This typically involves things like scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, entering patient data, and tracking test results. Similar to virtual assistant jobbut you’re doing it for a doctor’s office.

Typical requirements: High school diploma, strong organizational skills, ability to enter and navigate electronic health record systems.

5. Health Coach or Wellness Support Specialist
Health coaches are on a mission to help their clients make better lifestyle choices when it comes to nutrition, exercise and stress management. In these positions, you do not act as a healthcare professional, but rather as a motivating and responsible partner. These jobs have become much more common as telehealth and wellness apps have grown in popularity.
Typical requirements: Generally, no degree is required, although training in fitness, nutrition, or mental health is a plus. You must be encouraging, goal-oriented, and able to keep clients on track.

I hope this gives you some ideas if you want to get into the medical field but don’t have a degree. While a degree is still a good thing, you can certainly get your foot in the door without a degree for certain types of positions.
