4 Companies That Hire People to Book Cruises


Do you think you would like to work from home and book cruises for others? If so, you’re in luck because a few companies regularly have openings for this type of work.

Keep in mind that this is telephone workso all you non-phoning job seekers might not find this to be your cup of tea.

These companies are all hiring as of the date of this blog post. If you find that this isn’t the case, just bookmark their career page and check again later. Home positions come and go regularly.

Most positions require either previous experience in the cruise industry or previous experience in customer service and sales. If you do not have specific experience in the cruise industry, strong telephone sales experience or travel work is usually the best thing to have for these applications.

Another benefit is that almost all companies that hire people to work from home booking cruises will offer employee discounts on any cruises you book through them.

1 – Cruise.com

Hiring door-to-door cruise sales agents in most states.

Two years of recent cruise sales experience is required, and some (but not all) vacancies will require you to be bilingual (English/Spanish).

The pay is base plus commission, and they want you to work eight-hour shifts. The training lasts four weeks and can be completed online. As of the date of this blog post, it appears they are recruiting for these positions.

2 – Hollande America

Holland America is currently seeking Personal Cruise Consultants in the United States to work from home. This job involves making outbound calls and sending emails to warm leads, that is, customers who have already expressed interest in booking a cruise.

The salary structure is a base rate of $15 per hour plus uncapped incentive commissions. First-year consultants typically average around $50,000, and top performers reach $80,000 or more. This is a full-time role. Benefits come with no waiting period and Holland America will provide your equipment. The training is paid and lasts approximately 8 weeks before the start of work.

It’s worth knowing that recent Glassdoor reviewers note that sales goal expectations have become increasingly demanding and the salary structure has changed over time, so go in with clear eyes.

3 – Windstar Cruises

Windstar Cruises sometimes hires in-home customer service representatives to serve travel advisors and guests via inbound and outbound calls, email, chat, and other assigned sources. This job also involves helping with reservations.

Once posted, this position is only open to individuals living in the following US states: AR, AZ, CO, FL, LA, TX, and WA.

This is a full-time role. Experience with cruise or tour operations and reservations is preferred but not required.

The pay rate is not listed, but the job posting states it is an hourly rate plus incentives.

4 – Global Travel Fund

This company very regularly has openings for home workers to sell luxury cruise and resort vacation packages for 40 major travel brands. They are hiring in all US states except AK, CA, HI, KY, ND, OH, OR and PA.

The training is paid and they offer a benefits package after 90 days of employment. They also provide all the equipment you need, including computer equipment and a headset, and offer employee travel discounts.

A few things to know, based on recent reviews: Commission can be recouped if a customer cancels their reservation after the sale, and some employees note that night and weekend work may be required depending on your shift. Like most travel sales positions, this is a high volume phone job, so be aware of that.
