How much can you earn as a Pearson scorer?
Based on current job postings, Pearson Markers typically start at $17.50 per hour, with average pay ranging from $17 to $22 per hour depending on the program and your experience. They pay by direct deposit.
Pearson also has many projects aimed at bilingual people, and these generally pay more.
One thing to keep in mind about Pearson is that the work is project-based and seasonal. Most positions are available during the peak months of February through June, although some programs also hold grading sessions at other times of the year.
Whether or not you make money will depend on whether they have a project available for you. Some programs hold grading sessions one or two days at a time, intermittently, while others may last several weeks. It really varies depending on the program.
Although this is not the case for everyone education, work from home, jobsI would recommend considering Pearson as a way to earn a side income – not to pay your bills full-time. Indeed, you can’t count on work to always be there.

What types of grading programs does Pearson offer?
Pearson runs several different grading programs, and they have different requirements depending on which one you’re applying for. Here are some of the main ones:
Standardized test scoring — This is the most common entry point. Markers evaluate students’ open-ended responses on standardized assessments using rubrics provided by Pearson. Most of these positions are remote and available during peak testing season.
edTPA — This is a subject-specific assessment in which scorers practice and score in a specific content area based on their experience as an educator over the past five years. Scorers work from home on a flexible, part-time schedule.
Scoring National Board Certifications — Raters, trainers, and scoring supervisors participate in training and scoring activities for portfolio entries and constructed response items, primarily during the summer months.
CalAPA (California Administrator Performance Assessment) — California educators are invited to apply for this program. Grading activities are completed at home on a flexible, part-time schedule, with sessions typically occurring each spring and fall.
Teacher Licensure Evaluations — Pearson’s Evaluation Systems group operates teacher licensing programs in several states. Requirements vary by state and area.
Each program has its own qualifications, schedule, and pay rates, so you should check the Pearson site regularly to see what is currently open and if you qualify.
What are the requirements to be a Pearson scorer?
To be eligible for employment at Pearson, applicants must have at least a bachelor’s degree from a university or college located in the United States.
They may also require a degree in the subject you are grading or relevant educator experience depending on the program.
It is also necessary to have a stable telephone and Internet connection as well as a quiet environment in which to work. Pearson hires people to work on-site at its grading centers as well as online.
Does Pearson hire people from outside the United States?
Pearson only hires U.S. citizens, resident aliens, and individuals who can legally work in the United States.
How does the application process to become a Pearson goalscorer work?
There is an application to complete online as well as a survey to complete to determine whether or not a person is a good candidate for the position.
A trial marking session must also be successfully completed. Once a person has been accepted, the training process begins. Fortunately, everyone gets paid for the training.
Keep in mind that applications are accepted on a rolling basis, so even if there are no active projects at the moment, it’s worth applying so you’re in the system when something opens up.
What do people say about working for Pearson Scoring?
It’s a concert that most people are happy with. Flexibility is a major draw as you can largely set your own schedules as long as you meet the grading requirements for that session.
Unfortunately, not everyone can apply due to the requirements to complete a college degree. This is typical of most work from home, test scoring, jobs.
Some raters note that work can be intense during active grading periods, with the need to maintain accuracy rates to stay on project. But overall, it is considered one of the most reputable and legitimate options in this field.
If you have at least a bachelor’s degree and need to find something to do from home, this could be ideal!
