There’s really nothing better than making money while knowing that your work day involves making someone else’s day better or easier in some way. It’s so rewarding!
This is one of the reasons why I love my job so much. I can work from home whenever I want and earn income by sharing my work from home and ways to make money online with other people. Being able to help others is one of my favorite parts of what I’ve been doing for 13 years!
Below, I’ve listed seven different ways to earn an income when the work you do is focused on helping others. Some of the jobs that help people pay well too.

7 Remote and Flexible Jobs That Help People
1 – Helping the blind and visually impaired
If you want to work from home helping the blind and visually impaired, Aira offers an exciting remote opportunity.
As an Aira agent, you answer live video calls from their blind and visually impaired customers. You will then help them complete their daily tasks in real time.
It states in the job description that you are not on video while working.
Pay is $15 per hour and you work as an independent contractor.

A similar company is Be my eyesbut you work for them as an unpaid volunteer. Still, I thought I should mention them here just in case any of you would like to volunteer.
2 – Become a caregiver
Although caregiving isn’t always a work from home job (unless you’re doing it in your own home), it’s generally a flexible job and very, very rewarding! You make money while making someone’s life easier.
There are different types of treatments that you can perform. You can:
- Caring for the elderly
- Looking after children and babies
- Providing pet care services
Care.com is a great place to start if you want to list your care services in a wide variety of categories.
If you are primarily interested in pet sitting, consider registering to list your services with Vagabond.

3 – Become an online tutor
Online tutors are in high demand, and have been for a long time. There is no shortage of elementary, middle, high school, and college students who regularly need help from online tutors.
As an online tutor, you earn money while helping someone who is struggling academically. There are many, many companies that hire online tutors, but keep in mind that most of them prefer you to have a degree and/or previous teaching or tutoring experience.

4 – Teach the English language
This is pretty closely related to online tutoring, but instead of helping students with their homework, you’re helping non-English speakers learn the language.
While some of the opportunities I’ve listed for you below require nothing more than you being a native or fluent English speaker yourself, some of them prefer to hire English teachers with degrees, teaching experience, or certifications in language teaching. It will simply vary depending on the company.

5 – Work at home as a nurse
It goes without saying that you must have appropriate licensing, education, and previous experience in the medical field to land a nursing job.
But if you’re qualified, you can definitely become a virtual nurse and help others from the comfort of your home through telephone triage, video consultations and many other opportunities.
These are jobs that help people and pay well, although they are not always as flexible. Most companies that hire in-home nurses will require you to stick to a set schedule.

6 – Work from home as a therapist
Working from home as a therapist or counselor is one of the best jobs that help people and pay well!
However, just like the nursing positions listed above, you will need to have the appropriate qualifications to apply for these jobs. They vary, but you will need to have at least a bachelor’s degree and have your diploma.
The companies below are almost always hiring for online therapy, and most offer fantastic income and benefits too!
7 – Earn extra money delivering food and groceries
I have mentioned online shopping and delivery services several times on this site. Several companies offer delivery services, which are essential not only for busy people, but also for elderly and disabled people who may have difficulty driving or shopping in person.
Obviously you don’t work from home as a delivery person, but you can almost always work whenever you want with the apps and services I’ve listed below. Many of them offer instant payments and also allow tipping.
