Today we’re going to talk about side gigs. First of all, what do I define as a “side gig”? Although many work from home jobs can be considered side hustles, this list will cover various things you can do. in addition to your regular work from home or outside work from home job to earn extra money – not just a little change here and there.

That said, many of these side jobs are lucrative enough, on their own or combined with other similar opportunities, to actually make up your full-time income.

But before you quit your day job to do any of these, I highly recommend testing the waters first. Just think of it as extra money and see how it goes!

Side gigs encompass a ton of different categories, so we have a lot to cover here. Note that most of these opportunities are offline, but you will likely need a smartphone and, in some cases, a computer to be able to register and accept work.

Now that we are all more connected via smartphones and social media, it is MUCH easier these days to make money from opportunities like the ones below!

There are all kinds of businesses that need personal shoppers. That means delivering everything from groceries, fast food, restaurant food, and retail items to their customers who can’t go out or don’t feel like going out, and getting paid for it (plus tips).

Carpooling

You’re probably very familiar with ride-sharing apps and have probably used them. But otherwise, it’s basically downloading an app to find a ride when you need one. You can work in your spare time for one of the companies below, transporting people who request it in your area.

It’s different from carpooling. Instead of people driving you, you allow them to use your car when you’re not driving it. It’s a cool way for your car to save you money when it’s not in use!

Rent your house

If you live in a place where people tend to vacation, you can earn extra money by letting people stay at your home. I’m sure you’ve heard of the first option on my list (Airbnb), but there are other similar companies that will also allow you to list your home and set your own rates.

Rent everything else

In addition to your car and house (options listed above), you can get paid to rent all sorts of other things you own that can be useful to others. Such as …

• Neighbor – Rent your desired parking space or any storage space you own.
• AirGarage– Another set that allows you to rent your parking.
• Swim – Rent your swimming pool.
• Sniff point – Rent your land to dogs.
• RVShare– Earn money by renting your motorhome.
• Bell– Another site that allows you to offer your camper van for rent.
• Peer space – Rent your unique location by the hour.
• Store at Ma Maison– List your storage space.
• Boat installer– Register your boat for rent.

Pet care

While you can certainly go out on your own and start a pet sitting business, it may be a little easier to find clients if you link to a well-known directory that will list your services. Although these services take a commission, you can find clients faster and stay busier.

Care of the elderly and children

In addition to pet sitting, you can also earn extra money by being listed on popular sites and apps for your child and elder care services. Below are some of the most well-known and reputable options.

We’ve talked at length about selling your products here on Real Ways to Earn. It’s the ultimate side hustle because it’s flexible, you can make good money, and some people are actually capable of making a business out of it. When you run out of your own stuff to sell, you can start “flipping” the purchases you make to make a profit.

If you are good at photography, you can make money by selling your photos and listing your services. Here are some of the most reputable sites for doing these things below:

Offer moving services

If you are able to lift heavy furniture and boxes, your services are needed! And I can speak from experience since we moved last year and had a really hard time finding a moving company that hadn’t been booked for months to move us on the spur of the moment.

You can earn money by accepting mystery shopping companies in your area from reputable businesses that need this service.

Note that while there are many mystery shopping scams out there (some scammers will send you fake checks pretending they are from real mystery shopping companies – giving these companies an undeserved bad name), the companies below are the real deal.

Providing home repair, cleaning and maintenance services

If you’re a handyman, many people need help with things they can’t fix themselves. Some people need home, auto, or even computer repairs. Register on the following sites to list your services and get side work.

• Tidy– Housekeeping.
• HelloTech– Technical assistance concerts at home.
• TaskEasy– Lawn care, housekeeping and more.
• TaskRabbit– An application to offer your services for almost everything.

Miscellaneous

These opportunities are side gigs, but don’t fit very well into any of the above categories.

• WeGoLook– Being paid to go “see” things for people who are not close enough. Go look at cars people want to buy, houses people want to buy/rent, then tell them what you find.
• Practical – Offer cleaning or handyman services.
• GlamSquad– Offer makeup and beauty services at home.

• Field agent– Complete short tasks that appear on your smartphone.
• Instagram work – Get paid for flexible hours at local warehouses, hotels, restaurants, and events through their recruiting app.
