How a Miami startup is reinventing networking through sports and lifestyle


For Pierre Aurimond, the idea for Flexmode was born from a problem that many successful professionals are familiar with. After years working in institutional finance in Paris and London, Aurimond moved to Miami and quickly discovered that establishing meaningful relationships in a new city was more difficult than expected.

“As a newcomer, I found it surprisingly difficult to make real connections,” he says. “Networking events seemed transactional, social platforms were superficial, and there was no easy way to meet people I really connected with. »

The experience gave rise to an idea that would ultimately become Flexible modea members-only platform designed to connect working professionals through sport, wellness experiences and curated social events. Launched in Miami earlier this year, Flexmode is built on a simple belief: shared experiences create stronger relationships than traditional networking ever could.

“The idea was simple,” explains Aurimond. Sport and lifestyle naturally bring people together. Whether it’s working out, playing tennis, attending a wellness event, or sharing a drink afterwards, real connections tend to form when people do something they truly love.

Unlike traditional fitness apps that focus on performance tracking or class booking, Flexmode combines sport, lifestyle and community into one experience. Members create profiles based on their interests, favorite activities, skill levels, and schedules. The platform’s AI-based technology then helps connect them with compatible people, events and experiences.

Members can connect through sports, wellness experiences and events held throughout the city. The goal is not just to help people stay active, but to build meaningful relationships and network.

“Flexmode is not just a fitness app,” explains Aurimond. “It’s a way to elevate your life through the people you spend it with. “Miami was a natural place to launch.

Miami has become a destination for entrepreneurs, executives, investors and creatives from around the world. Many arrive knowing few people and looking for a community that fits their personal and professional lifestyle. Miami is full of ambitious newcomers,” says Aurimond.

People are active all year round, they are business creationthey are looking for opportunities and many are looking for authentic connections in a city they have recently moved to.

Membership is selective by design. Applicants are screened before being accepted, create a community that prioritizes quality and engagement over scale. Once inside, members receive recommendations for experiences, events and relationships that match their interests.

The company has already partnered on a growing number of activations across South Florida, including wellness and recovery experiences at Gio Midtown Residences, private golf sessions with TheTips Golf, wellness programs with Cosmo Contour Spa and Carillon Miami Wellness Resort, and a FIFA World Cup Cocktail Party hosted alongside Ocean Drive Magazine at Seaspice.

Although technology powers the platform, Aurimond says the product itself is intentionally human. AI works behind the scenes,” he explains. “This helps us make smarter recommendations, identify the right people and connect members with good experiences. But the goal isn’t to spend more time in front of a screen. The goal is to get people into the room, onto the field, or into an experience faster.

The company is currently raising its funding round after initially being initiated by Aurimond himself. Expansion plans already include Houston, followed by cities like New York, Los AngelesAustin, London, Dubai and Toronto.

For Aurimond, however, the vision remains remarkably simple.
